1,500 gallons on a 65 inch floor
The Snyder 32541 is the narrow 1,500 gallon tank: 65 inches across, 114 inches tall, black polyethylene, 230 pounds empty. Where the low-profile 1,500 gallon tanks need an 86 inch circle, this one needs 65, and it pays for that with height. A 20 inch threaded vented manway on top, 1-1/2 inch polypropylene inlet, 2 inch polypropylene outlet, rated for a specific gravity of 1.0.

Floor or ceiling: the 1,500 gallon decision
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32535 | 1,300 | 60 x 114 in | 194 lb |
| 32541 (this tank) | 1,500 | 65 x 114 in | 230 lb |
| 32543, green | 1,500 | 65 x 114 in | 230 lb |
| WB46 | 1,500 | 86 x 70 in | 210 lb |
| WB47 | 1,500 | 86 x 71 in | 270 lb |
| 32547 | 1,600 | 86 x 71 in | 217 lb |
Every tank in the table holds about the same water. The 65 inch tanks are 21 inches narrower than the low ones and 43 to 44 inches taller. If the site is a corner beside a building with a high wall, take this tank; if it is under a deck or an eave, take the WB46 or WB47. The green 32543 is this exact tank for potable water in view. The 1,300 gallon 32535 is 5 inches narrower again at the same height, for the tightest corners. Weight is the tiebreaker among the low tanks: the WB47 carries 60 more pounds of wall than the WB46 for one more inch of height, and this narrow tank sits between them at 230.

Standing 12,510 pounds nine and a half feet high
A tall narrow tank puts its full weight high, so the base has to be level to a degree a low tank forgives: a tilt at the floor is multiplied at the rim. Pour or set a pad in full contact with the whole 65 inch floor, sized by the ACI 360R-10 method in the concrete pad sizing guide. The manway needs a ladder, so plumb the fill to the 1-1/2 inch top inlet and keep the manway closed with its vent clear. Service limit is 120 F / 48 C; the black wall keeps light and algae out.
At the bottom
- 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead outlet: full-port valve first, then a union, then the pump, so the pump comes off without draining 1,500 gallons.
- 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead inlet on top for the fill line or a float valve; the manway stays closed for inspection only.
- A sight tube on the outlet is the simplest gauge; the level gauge selection guide covers sensors for an automated fill.
Where it goes to work
A serious rainwater store, a well reserve for a household on slow recovery, wash water for a shop with a tall bay, and the smallest tank most rural fire plans accept, sized with the fire-water reservoir design guide. In a reuse system it is the collection tank ahead of treatment, per the industrial water reuse topology guide. Work the days of supply with the tank sizing calculator and the tank sizing guide.
