The lower of Snyder's two 3000 gallon shells

At eight feet across and nine feet three inches to the manway, this is the shell to pick when the ceiling, not the floor, is what you are working around: a barn bay, a lean-to, a plant room with ductwork overhead. A tall step reaches the opening and the fill line and vent clear most commercial ceilings. The 1.5 wall covers water, rainwater, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment liquids polyethylene handles. For a brine, a concentrate or anything denser than 1.5 times water, use the heavy duty 1.9 rated version of this shell, which we also list. Crosslinked polyethylene gives more chemistry margin than ordinary polyethylene; check anything beyond water and fertilizer in the chemical compatibility guide before the first fill.

Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. 18 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill line with a dip tube, level sender, and room for a hand and a brush. Size the vent to the delivery pump.
2. Outlet. This listing does not state an installed outlet. Tell us the drain size, material and direction and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank ships with.
3. Temperature. 140 F (60 C) service limit; ambient storage is well inside it.
