Short and heavy

Short and heavy is the combination this tank sells. At 111 inches to the top of the shell it buys back headroom that the other 3,000 gallon tanks we list give up, and on a site where the lowest duct, purlin or crane rail decides the order, that is the whole decision. The second half of the argument is the wall. The 1.9 rating is built for a liquid meaningfully heavier than water: acid or caustic beside a plating line, a heavy coagulant in a cramped chemical room, brine at a drilling yard. Openings and what to check before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 111 inches up, so a short platform with a rail beats a ladder leaned against the wall. On a dense liquid the vent is the vapor path as well as the air path: size it to the delivery pump, keep a screen on it, and fill through a dip tube to the floor.
2. Outlet. No outlet fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the liquid, the pipe size and where the connection goes and we will confirm what Snyder installs and what you add. A short tank gives less suction head than a tall one, so mount the pump below the outlet, keep the suction line short and straight, and fit a low-level cutout; carry the first valve on its own stand off the pad.
3. Rating. 1.9 specific gravity and 140 F. Heavier or hotter liquids need a different tank; ask us.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's Chowchilla, CA plant, 96 x 96 x 111 inches and 720 lb, a single-piece load that goes under a standard trailer roof standing up. Lift with straps under the body or long forks under the base, never a hook in the manway. At the tailgate, check the part number 5130300N42 against the bill of lading and look over the shell for transit damage before you sign.
