A 1.9 specific gravity wall is sized for a liquid nearly twice as dense as water, and 1,000 pounds of resin is what that takes on this wide, low shell, 190 pounds more than the lighter grades beside it. The N42 is cross-linked polyethylene for oxidizers at this tank's weight, and the N40 and N46 are the lighter cross-linked and linear grades, all 4 inches taller on the sheet. Ports
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 100 inches up; on acid or caustic the vent goes outdoors, the fill goes down a dip tube, and the vent is sized to the tanker pump.

Choose the level sender for the chemical; a low-level float switch keeps the pump from running dry, and the low shape keeps the suction flooded to the last few inches. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and shade the tank where the chemical is light-sensitive. Regulated chemical in a single wall tank means a berm sized to the tank around it. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe.
Filling from a tanker
Unloading a tanker pushes air out faster than a stock manway vent can pass it; size the vent for that rate, or fill through a dedicated top bulkhead vented separately. A fill pipe to the floor keeps caustic or coagulant from free-falling and foaming. A dense liquid heats when water is added to it, so a batch tank is filled with water before the chemical, never after. The first delivery into a new tank is watched from start to finish, with the slab edge and the outlet fitting checked as the level climbs, and each delivery after it is logged with its date and strength.
