The Snyder Industries 6000 Gallon HDPE Vertical Liquid Storage Tank is a full-volume vertical storage tank built for high-capacity water and liquid duty, listed at a 1.5 specific gravity rating and carrying ASTM certification. At 145 inches tall on a 120 by 120 inch footprint, it holds 6,000 gallons in a single white polyethylene vessel. The 1.5 SG rating is the number that matters here: it tells you how dense a liquid the tank wall is engineered to hold, and at 1.5 this Snyder vertical handles substantially heavier-than-water contents up to a rated 75,060 pounds of stored weight. That is a deliberate upgrade over a standard water-only vertical tank, so if you are storing brine, liquid fertilizer, or another heavier-than-water liquid, this 1.5 SG rating is the spec you want to specify rather than a lighter-walled equivalent.

Will it work for your site?

Plan the slab and the layout around real numbers, not estimates. The footprint is a square 120.0 x 120.0 inches and overall height is 145 inches, so confirm your door, ceiling, or canopy clearance before delivery. Filled with water at full capacity, the tank and contents weigh 50,040 pounds; at the full 1.5 SG rating the structure is rated to 75,060 pounds of contents. The gap between water-full and the 1.5 SG rated maximum is roughly 25,000 pounds, so size your pad, anchoring, and any containment for the 75,060 pound figure if you will ever store a heavier liquid. The factory drawing shows the fitting layout: a flange, an 18" PE threaded/vented fitting, and a manway with 15" access for inspection and cleanout. See the technical drawing on this page for fitting positions and elevations, and use the Tank Sizing Calculator or the Tank Sizing Guide if you are still settling on capacity for a vertical storage tank of this scale.

The mistake to avoid

The common error on a tank this size is under-building the foundation for the stored weight. This is rated at 1.5 SG, but that rating only protects you if your pad, anchoring, and any secondary containment are sized for the contents you actually intend to store, not just water. Run the math on density before you fill, and verify that the 18" PE threaded/vented fitting, the flange, and the manway gasket seal suit your service. The polyethylene wall is rated to 1.5 SG, but the flange and 15"-access manway are gasketed sealing points, so confirm the gasket material is rated for your stored liquid, not just the tank wall. For the freeboard and thermal-expansion side of that density math, the Captor freeboard sizing guide walks through ASTM D1998 thermal expansion and the real usable volume, and the HDPE tank wall thickness guide covers how wall thickness and ASTM D1998 logic govern long-term durability. If a 6,000 gallon vertical is also a candidate for rural fire-water reservoir duty, the fire-water reservoir design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing, and the 6000 Gallon Vertical Liquid Storage Tank buyer's guide is worth reading before you order.

Freight and ordering

This tank ships LTL from the Snyder plant in Chowchilla, CA, the nearest named ship point for this SKU. Because a 6,000 gallon vertical is an oversized freight item, the carrier cost depends entirely on your delivery ZIP and site access. Get an exact number with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 and we will quote the LTL freight to your address and walk through delivery and offload. List price shown is before freight, which is quoted live to your ZIP.
