6,000 gallons at 1.35 specific gravity on a 102 inch base, ASTM certified
The Snyder 7430000N39 is a white polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 102 inches across and 188 inches tall, holding 6,000 gallons at 1,650 pounds. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.35, or 70,056 pounds of contents against 50,040 for water, which covers alum, most fertilizer solutions and the lighter brines as delivered as well as every water application, it is sold with ASTM certification for jobs that need the paper, and the eight and a half foot base puts a tanker load and a reserve on a pad smaller than the tanker, fifteen and a half feet up. It comes with an 18 inch threaded, vented manway and a 3 year warranty, and it leaves the plant as oversize freight.

A tanker and a reserve on the small pad
A 1.35 specific gravity rating is the step between the water wall and the middle grade: alum and most fertilizer solutions come in lighter than that, so this tank carries them with margin at less resin than the heavier grades in the same shell. The certification is to ASTM D1998, which is a wall-thickness standard at heart; the HDPE tank wall thickness guide explains the sizing logic and why a wall this tall is inspected from the top, in the headspace. Full, it puts 70,056 pounds on a 102 inch circle at the rating: an engineered, full-contact slab under all of the floor, with straps holding the empty tank against wind at two heights and the manway reached from a fixed platform with a rail, never a ladder. The 6,000 gallon vertical tank buyers guide compares the shapes at this volume across makers; the tank sizing calculator tells you whether 6,000 gallons covers the draw, and the tank sizing guide covers days of supply.
Grades on the 102 x 188 inch tank, and the sizes beside it
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7430000N39 (this tank, 1.35 SG, ASTM certified) | 6,000 | 102 x 188 in | 1,650 lb |
| 7430000N33 (black, ASTM certified) | 6,000 | 102 x 188 in | 1,650 lb |
| 7430000N30 (sulfuric grade) | 6,000 | 102 x 188 in | 1,800 lb |
| 7140300N40 (ten foot base, XLPE) | 6,000 | 120 x 145 in | 1,500 lb |
| 7000000C34 (ten foot base) | 6,000 | 120 x 132 in | 1,050 lb |
| 7000000C37-BLACK (ten foot base, black) | 6,000 | 120 x 132 in | 1,050 lb |
| 8220000C34 (ten foot base) | 6,200 | 120 x 140 in | 1,350 lb |
| 5250000N40 (low profile, XLPE) | 5,600 | 142 x 102 in | 1,150 lb |
The N33 is the black tank in this shell at this tank's weight, for sun and light-sensitive liquids, and the N30 is the sulfuric acid resin, 150 pounds heavier. The 7140300N40, 7000000C34 and C37-BLACK stand the same 6,000 gallons on a 120 inch base at 145 and 132 inches, for a site with floor and less height, and the 8220000C34 holds 6,200 there; the 5250000N40 lays 5,600 gallons down to 102 inches on a 142 inch base.

Access and outlet
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 188 inches up; filled by truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for a tanker's unload rate.
- Outlet: name the liquid when ordering so the bulkhead fitting matches it; flex at the bulkhead, an expansion joint after it, and the valve braced off the slab so the fitting carries nothing.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
- Listing: ASTM certification.
On a tank this tall nobody reads a level by eye; fit a sender read at ground level, and fit a low-level float switch so a pump never runs dry. The pump sits below the outlet so it primes by gravity; the manway stays closed; a light-sensitive liquid stays out of the sun. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
Fill day
The truck's pump outruns the manway vent, so size the vent for the unload rate or give the fill its own top bulkhead and vent line. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the liquid does not free-fall and foam; on a shell this tall that is a long drop. Somebody stands at the tank for the whole of the first delivery, watching the slab edge and the outlet fitting as the level rises, and every delivery after that goes in the log with a date and a strength.
Put to use
Alum and fertilizer solution delivered by tanker with a reserve, at plants and farms with height and no floor space, well storage for a community system, a reserve inside a tall process building, and a fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes, where the height gives a pump a flooded suction. One liquid per tank, labeled.
How it ships
At 102 inches across and 188 inches long on the deck the 7430000N39 is oversize freight (NMFC 156600) on a flatbed at a lane rate; the freight cost estimator prices the move to your ZIP, and the price on this page is before freight. A crane sets 1,650 pounds upright on the slab; a forklift can take it off the deck, not raise it. One water fill to the manway, a hold, a look at the outlet fitting, and the certification goes in the project file. A strap that is checked once a season is a strap that holds; put it on the same calendar as the gutters.
