2,000 gallons at 1.5 specific gravity under seven and a half feet
The Snyder 8130000N43 is a white high density linear polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 90 inches across and 88 inches tall, holding 2,000 gallons at 400 pounds. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 25,020 pounds of contents against 16,680 for water, so it holds brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered as well as water, and the seven and a half foot base puts eight totes' worth under a barn eave with the 18 inch threaded, vented manway reached from a step. A 3 year warranty, and it ships as oversize freight.

Eight totes under an eave, in the middle wall
A water-rated wall is for water and nothing heavier; the full-density wall is for concentrated acid; a 1.5 wall is the middle, sized for brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered and every water application, with margin, and 400 pounds of resin is what that takes on this shell, 50 more than the 1.35 wall beside it. The N39 is the 1.35 wall in this same shell, 50 pounds lighter, for alum and the lighter solutions; the 5050000 tanks are the general grades at this size, the C37-BLACK in black for sun. Openings as shipped
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 88 inches up; filled by hose, tote pump or truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for the delivery pump.
- Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the liquid when ordering; a flexible connector between the bulkhead and hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
The white wall shows the level in daylight; fit a low-level float switch so a pump never runs dry. Set the pump lower than the outlet so gravity primes it, keep the manway shut against vapor loss, and shade the tank if the liquid is light-sensitive. In a cold climate the outlet valve and the first run of pipe are insulated or drained; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
The first fill from the truck
A delivery truck's pump can push air out faster than a stock vent can pass it, so the vent is sized for the unload rate or the fill goes through a dedicated top bulkhead with its own vent line. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the liquid does not free-fall and foam. The first delivery into a new tank is watched from start to finish, with the slab edge and the outlet fitting checked as the level climbs, and each delivery after it is logged with its date and strength.
Once a season
Once a season, with the tank as low as the schedule allows, open the manway in daylight and look at the headspace wall and the underside of the top for chalking, crazing or a change in color; that is where a polyethylene wall ages first, and the wetted wall below tells you nothing. Check the outlet fitting for a weep, the strap for tension, and the pad edge for a crack or a gap. Write the date and what was seen on the log; a tank with a five year log is a tank somebody can vouch for.
In service
Coagulant, brine and fertilizer solution at farms and small plants, well storage for a house, a barn and a garden, a rain cistern under a large roof, stock water on a pasture, and a fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes, where the low center of gravity counts.
