The oxidizer tank that takes heat

Cross-linked polyethylene is a different molecule from the linear grade: the chains are bonded to each other during molding, so an oxidizer that would slowly crack a linear wall has nothing to work on, and the same bonding is what lets the wall hold its shape twenty degrees hotter than a linear tank, which matters for a chemical that arrives warm or a room that runs hot. A 1.9 wall on top of that resin is sized for a liquid nearly twice as dense as water, and 800 pounds is what that takes on this shell. Where the pipe goes

• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 127 inches up; vent outside on hypochlorite and peroxide service, fill through a dip tube, and size the vent for the delivery pump.
• Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the chemical when ordering; a flanged transition and a valve supported off the pad, in PVC or a fluoropolymer for hypochlorite, never brass.
• Service limit: 140 F / 60 C.

Pick a level sender rated for the chemical and bring its reading to ground level, so the number never needs a climb; keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and shade the tank, because hypochlorite in sun loses strength faster. Regulated chemical in a single wall tank means a berm sized to the tank around it. Label it so the fire inspector and the workplace inspector read the same thing. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run.

Fill day

A delivery truck's pump can push air out faster than a stock vent can pass it, so the vent is sized for the unload rate or the fill goes through a dedicated top bulkhead with its own vent line. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the chemical does not free-fall and foam. The first tanker into a new tank is a supervised job, slab edge and outlet fitting checked as it fills, and each delivery after it is logged with its date and strength; for hypochlorite the log is also the turnover schedule.
