The Snyder Industries 4100 Gallon Vertical Liquid Storage Tank is the high-SG upgrade in the vertical lineup: a black HDPE vertical storage tank rated to 1.9 specific gravity, standing 100 inches tall on a 120 x 120 inch square footprint. Where a standard 1.0 to 1.5 SG vertical tank runs out of rating, this Snyder vertical is engineered to carry a heavier-than-water liquid all the way to its 1.9 SG ceiling, the top of the standard vertical range. That 1.9 SG number is the single most important figure on the spec sheet for matching this tank to a dense liquid, and it is the reason to choose this tank over a lighter-rated vertical.

Will this tank work for your application?

Filled with water this 4100-gallon Snyder vertical holds roughly 34,194 pounds, and at its full 1.9 SG rating it is built to carry up to 64,969 pounds of contents. Those two weights drive your foundation and freight planning more than any other figure, so size your pad to the rated load, not the water weight, if you intend to store a dense liquid. Note that the 4100-gallon figure is gross capacity: at 1.9 SG you are unlikely to fill to the brim, because a dense liquid needs freeboard for thermal expansion above the working level. Our guide on Snyder freeboard sizing per ASTM D1998 walks the real usable volume you can plan around. Run your specific liquid through the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit to a pad pour.

Fittings and access

Per the technical drawing on this page, this Snyder vertical tank carries a flange, an 18-inch PE threaded manway, and eight flat fitting pads at 45-degree typical spacing. The eight pads give you real flexibility in outlet and bulkhead placement around the tank, so map your plumbing to the drawing before you order. The 18-inch threaded manway is your top access point for inspection, cleanout entry, and tank-level hardware. Verify the gasket and outlet hardware you select are rated for both the 1.9 SG load and the liquid you are storing.

What to get right before you order

The most common and most expensive mistake on a high-SG vertical is treating it like a standard water tank. This is a black HDPE storage tank carrying an ASTM certification; black resin blocks UV and inhibits algae growth but means you cannot see the liquid level through the wall, so plan for a level gauge or sight tube. Because the manway is top-mounted, budget overhead clearance above the 100-inch tank height for manway access and fill, not just clearance to the top of the shell. For long-term service, the vapor-saturated headspace and wall-thickness relationship matters on HDPE tanks; our guide on HDPE tank wall thickness and ASTM D1998 sizing logic explains where premature failures originate and why liquid-side inspection misses them. For the foundation, our concrete pad sizing framework walks the ACI 360R-10 approach for a load this heavy. If you are running this as a fire-water reservoir, see our NFPA 22 reservoir design guide for sizing and freeze-protection discipline.

This tank ships LTL from the Snyder plant in Marked Tree, Arkansas, with freight quoted live to your ZIP. A 4100-gallon vertical at this weight moves on a dedicated freight line, so get an exact number from our Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777 to lock in your delivery.
