Buying the wall the liquid needs

A tank's specific gravity rating is the density of the heaviest liquid its wall is sized to hold for its service life; a 1.5 wall covers alum, ferric, brine, caustic and hypochlorite as delivered with room to spare; the 1.9 wall is for concentrated sulfuric acid and nothing lighter needs it. The N45 is the 1.9 wall for concentrated acid, the N40 is cross-linked polyethylene for oxidizers, and the C37 is the black water tank, all in this same shell. Full, the tank loads a 102 inch circle to 62,550 pounds at the rating: an engineered, full-contact slab under all of the floor, with straps holding the empty tank against wind, and the manway reached from a fixed platform. What it holds in practice

Coagulant, brine and caustic bulk storage at water and wastewater plants with a berm, hypochlorite at short turnover, and any regulated liquid of moderate density at plant scale where the certification has to be on file. Give it one chemical, a label that satisfies both inspectors, and a closed manway.
