6,500 gallons at 1.5 specific gravity on a ten foot base
The Snyder 7140000N43 is a white polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 120 inches across and 153.5 inches tall, holding 6,500 gallons at 1,450 pounds. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 81,315 pounds of contents against 54,210 for water, so it holds brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered as well as water, and the ten foot base takes a tanker load and a working reserve under a thirteen foot roof. Up top is an 18 inch threaded, vented manway, the warranty runs 3 years, and it goes out as oversize freight.

A tanker and a reserve in the middle wall
A water-rated wall is for water and nothing heavier; the full-density wall is for concentrated acid; a 1.5 wall is the middle, sized for brine, fertilizer solution and coagulant as delivered and every water application, with margin. Rotationally molded polyethylene tanks are sized to ASTM D1998, and the way a tank meets the density it is rated for is in the wall; the HDPE tank wall thickness guide explains the sizing logic and why the headspace is where a wall ages. Full, it puts 81,315 pounds on a 120 inch circle at the rating: an engineered slab bearing under the entire floor, the empty tank strapped down against wind and the manway reached from a fixed platform. The 6,500 gallon vertical tank buyers guide walks through the competing shapes at this volume; the tank sizing calculator tells you whether 6,500 gallons covers the draw, and the tank sizing guide covers days of supply.

The N39 is the certified 1.35 wall at this weight for alum and the lighter solutions where the paperwork matters, and the N45 the certified 1.9 wall, 550 pounds heavier, for ferric at strength; the N33 is the black tank for sun, the N40 cross-linked polyethylene for oxidizers, and the N46 another linear grade. The 5300400N43 is the certified 1.5 wall at 6,600 gallons on this base, 450 pounds heavier and 5 inches taller, for a job that needs the paper at this density; the 8220000C34 is the 6,200 step down.

Where the pipe goes
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 153.5 inches up; filled by truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for a tanker's unload rate.
- Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the liquid when ordering; a flexible connector at the bulkhead, an expansion joint in the run, and a valve on its own support off the slab.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
The white wall shows the level in daylight; fit a sender read at ground level so nobody climbs for a number, and a low-level float switch keeps a pump from running dry. Set the pump lower than the outlet so gravity primes it, keep the manway shut against vapor loss, and shade the tank if the liquid is light-sensitive. In a cold climate the outlet valve and the first run of pipe are insulated or drained.
Bringing in a load
A tanker unloads faster than the manway can breathe, so the vent is sized for the pump or the fill takes a dedicated top bulkhead with its own vent. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the liquid does not free-fall and foam. The first load into a new tank gets watched end to end, eyes on the slab edge and the outlet fitting while the level comes up, and each delivery after it is logged with its date and strength.
The work it does
Coagulant, brine and fertilizer solution delivered by tanker with a reserve at plants and farms, well storage for a community system, a rain cistern under a large roof, and a fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes. One liquid per tank, labeled.
Freight, in plain terms
At 120 inches across and 153.5 inches long on the deck the 7140000N43 is oversize freight (NMFC 156600) on a flatbed at a lane rate; the freight cost estimator prices the lane to your ZIP; the figure listed here is before freight. A crane or a forklift with long forks sets 1,450 pounds on the slab. Fill it to the manway once, hold it, check the outlet fitting, and log the date; the warranty clock starts at delivery. Save the pallet; a tank that ever has to move again is easier to move on it.
