The Snyder 7400000N45 is a white polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 120 inches across and 194 inches tall, holding 8,500 gallons at 3,100 pounds. The N43 is the certified 1.5 wall in this same shell, 700 pounds lighter, for coagulants and brines that never approach this density; the N48 is the other heavy wall at this tank's weight, and the N40 and N46 the lighter cross-linked and linear grades. The level sender is chosen for the chemical and read from the ground, not the platform; keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and shade the tank where the chemical is light-sensitive. A single wall tank of a regulated liquid lives inside a berm that holds the whole tank. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run.
The first delivery
The driver's pump can deliver faster than the manway vent can breathe, so the vent is sized for the unload rate or the fill goes through a dedicated top bulkhead with its own vent line. The fill pipe runs to the floor so caustic or coagulant does not free-fall and foam; on a shell this tall that is a long drop. When a batch is cut with water, the water goes in first and the chemical after, because dilution heats a dense liquid. Watch the first delivery from the first gallon to the last, checking the slab edge and the outlet fitting as the level rises, and every delivery after that goes in the log with a date and a strength.
