The Snyder Industries 9500 Gallon HDPE Vertical Liquid Storage Tank is a Lincoln, Nebraska-built polyethylene vessel for large-volume water and liquid storage. Standing 215 inches tall on a 120 x 120 inch footprint, it holds 9,500 gallons in a single white HDPE body carrying an ASTM-rated specific gravity of 1.9. For operators sizing bulk fresh-water storage, fire-water reserves, or process supply, this is one of the larger vertical tanks in the Snyder line, and its specs answer the three questions that matter before you buy.

Will it work for your site?

This is a vertical storage tank in white polyethylene, rated to a specific gravity of 1.9 - meaning the wall is engineered to handle contents up to 1.9 times the weight of water. That 1.9 is the heavy-chemical ceiling of the Snyder rating, so for plain water (SG 1.0) you are carrying roughly 90% reserve wall margin. Run the numbers before you pour a pad: filled with water, the tank and contents weigh 79,230 lbs, and at its full rated 1.9 SG capacity the contents reach 150,537 lbs. Those are foundation loads, not freight loads - the tank itself ships empty. That operating load lands on a 120.0 x 120.0 inch footprint, so the supporting surface has to carry it without differential settling. Our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help confirm this 9,500-gallon vertical tank is the right capacity for your draw-down and refill cycle.

Fittings and access

Per the technical drawing on this page, this tank is configured with a flange, an 18-inch PE threaded and vented fitting, a manway with 15-inch access, and two 12 x 24 inch fittings - one of which is flat-mount for a recessed connection that routes piping differently than a standard sidewall port. The 18-inch PE threaded/vented port and the flange each seat against a gasket, so confirm you have the matching PE companion fitting and gasket on hand before install. The manway gives you interior access for inspection and cleaning, but size your equipment and confined-space entry plan to that 15-inch access opening - it is a real entry constraint on a tank this large. The vapor-saturated headspace above the liquid line is where HDPE walls thin first; our guide on HDPE tank wall thickness at the vapor-saturated headspace explains why liquid-side inspection misses early wear and how ASTM D1998 sizing logic accounts for it. Verify the exact fitting layout against the technical drawing before you plumb, since outlet and vent placement drive your pad and piping design.

Freight and what to avoid

The empty tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Lincoln, NE, quoted live to your ZIP - get a real number from our Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777. The mistake to avoid on a tank this size is underbuilding the foundation: a 150,537-lb rated load demands an engineered pad, and our walkthrough on concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks covers the ACI 360R-10 framework you need. If you need secondary containment around this volume, our Snyder Captor double-wall freeboard sizing guide is the right step-up path; if you are sizing this as a fire-water reservoir, review our fire-water reservoir tank design guide for NFPA 22 sizing discipline. Call 866-418-1777 with your application and we will confirm fittings, freight, and lead time.
